New Metric Introduced To Show Underlying Performance
DigiPlus said it is now introducing net gaming revenue, or NGR, as a key operating measure from this quarter. The company said the metric offers a clearer view of underlying gaming performance and brings its reporting in line with global peers.
According to DigiPlus, NGR is calculated after deducting PAGCOR’s regulatory share and fees, game provider fees, marketing and promotional expenses, payment channel fees, and other direct gaming-related costs. The company said that makes it a more relevant measure of operating performance than gross gaming revenue alone.
The group operates platforms including BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone. It reported a 124% quarter-on-quarter rise in net income to Php6.98 billion, or US$114 million, while EBITDA increased 7% to Php2.85 billion, or US$46.5 million.
EBITDA margin improved from 15.3% in the first quarter to 18.2% in the second quarter, with DigiPlus pointing to operating efficiency and disciplined cost management as the main drivers.
User Base Expands Across Platforms
DigiPlus also reported aggregate monthly active users of 5.75 million in the second quarter, supported by continued growth across its digital gaming platforms. Monthly average bettors and depositors, or MABD, increased 26% quarter-on-quarter to 4.68 million.
The company said the rise in MABD reflects the quality of its iGaming experience, its strength in product development, and improved user acquisition strategies across its platforms. The user data was presented as a sign that the company’s digital gaming base continues to deepen even as revenue measures shift between quarters.

President Ping Chen said the growth in MAU and MABD reflects the market share of the company’s platforms, its product development capabilities, and the quality of its Gaming-as-a-Service strategy.
He added that net gaming revenue after tax is the key measure DigiPlus uses to assess operational performance because it captures both the scale of the user base and the efficiency of capital spend. He also said the growing user base, improved cohort, and higher returns on capital should support significantly higher gross gaming revenue, net gaming revenue, and profitability in the next quarters.
Business Model And Outlook
According to Chen, DigiPlus has moved beyond being just a typical online games company to become a Gaming as a Service model based on proprietary content, personalized products through data, and innovations. This change will ensure that the firm has better earnings quality, enhancing the lifetime value of customers, and creating value for shareholders.
Quarterly reports show that the business continues to expand on the user end while experiencing some ease in its gross gaming revenue compared to the last quarter. With net income and EBITDA both improving, DigiPlus framed the second quarter as one in which operational quality strengthened alongside user expansion.
As the company adopts NGR as a primary reporting metric, the focus now appears to be shifting toward the balance between scale, efficiency, and return on capital.
