The Premier League giants drew with Inter 1-1 to begin their friendly slate, a match which served as the first match action for the likes of Phil Foden, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Antoine Semenyo.

Most of Man City’s World Cup participants, including Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki, Marc Guehi, Elliot Anderson, and Nico O’Reilly, are all still absent as they recover from international duty this summer.

The Sporting News explains who City will line up against in this match and who will lead the K-League All Stars as they look to give the English club a tough battle to get ready for the campaign.

Notable players in K-League All Stars team

There are a few players who Man City fans may be interested in seeing line up against their club in this match.

Most notably is young midfielder Son Jeong-beom, an 18-year-old with FC Seoul who is very highly rated. He has helped FC Seoul establish itself at the top of the K-League table this season, as the first player to establish himself as a regular starter at the club since Ki Sung-Yueng who did so three years after Jeong-beom was born.

Sung-Yeung, coincidentally, is also on the K-League All team, having moved from FC Seoul — where he returned to five years ago after stints in Europe at the likes of Celtic, Sunderland, Swansea, Newcastle, and Mallorca — to Pohang Steelers on a free transfer this summer.

Also in the squad is World Cup veteran Yazan Al-Arab who played every minute of Jordan’s group stage matches.

Who is the K-League All Stars coach?

The coach of the K-League All-Stars is Chung Jung-yong, who is the head coach of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

The club won last year’s league title, finishing 14 points clear at the top of the table.
