Seibold will join Willie Peters’ coaching staff as a senior assistant, adding significant first-grade experience to the expansion club’s football department.

The 51-year-old was dismissed by Manly earlier this season after a difficult opening to the campaign and has since been linked with a number of coaching opportunities.

Seibold said the chance to help build something from the ground up was a major attraction.

«I’m looking forward to working with Willie Peters and supporting the vision this club has,» Seibold said.

«The chance to make a positive impact on players, staff and the wider community was a big reason I wanted to join the Chiefs.» Seibold continued.

The appointment adds another experienced figure to a PNG football department that will also include Luke Burt, with the Chiefs continuing to build their roster and staff well ahead of their 2028 entry.

Seibold brings 142 games of NRL head-coaching experience to the fledgling franchise, along with experience working across rugby union and AFL, giving Peters another senior voice as the club prepares for its historic debut.
