Max King injury: St Kilda reveal hamstring scan results

St Kilda spearhead Max King will miss the rest of the 2027 AFL season after suffering a hamstring strain in his comeback match.

King was taken off during the third quarter of Sunday’s win against North Melbourne, reporting hamstring awareness in his first AFL game in over two years.

Scans on Monday have revealed the hamstring injury for King, with the club sidelining him until 2027.

The Saints are hoping King gets his body right for pre-season and is able to play plenty of senior footy next season.

«He’s an incredibly important part of our football club. We’ll continue to wrap our arms around him and provide all the support he needs as he works through this latest setback.

«Our focus now turns to ensuring Max undertakes a full pre-season to allow him to get back and play consistent senior football in 2027.»

King last played AFL 757 days ago previously with knee and calf issues keeping him sidelined from senior football since then.

He was selected for two VFL games in May but only completed one before straining his hamstring in the second.
