NRL legend unloads on Adam Doueihi: ‘I don’t know how he walks back in’
With reports Adam Doueihi is set to walk out on the Tigers this week, one former player has taken the opportunity to unload on the disgruntled 27-year-old, questioning how he can face his teammates.
Speaking on Sunday, retired Sydney Roosters and Kiwi legend Jared Waerea-Hargreaves made his thoughts crystal clear on Fox League.
“I don’t know how he walks back in on Monday,” Waerea-Hargreaves said after Doueihi sat out the Tigers’ 56-10 thumping from the Raiders in Round 21.
“This club is hurting… they’re in a crisis and for a guy to make, I feel like, a selfish decision, I don’t know how he walks back in.”

Waerea-Hargreaves then echoed the views of many former players, suggesting Douehi had crossed a line by so publicly undermining head coach Benji Marshall’s authority.
“They lost by 46 points, you should be there, as hard as it is you should support your team no matter what and I think when a coach makes a decision, you back your coach every day of the week,” he said.
With their season imploding in direct parallel with ongoing off-field dramas, the Tigers have now lost six games in a row and have slumped to second last on the NRL ladder having sat as high as second after Round 6 and third after Round 8.
Doueihi only extended his Tigers contract until 2029 earlier this season.
It remains to be seen if he will see out the week at Concord or becomes the latest Isaac Moses managed Tiger to depart in acrimonious circumstances.
