Well, the answer was a 27-point win, in a game that the Cats were up by as much as 47 points in the fourth quarter before a couple of late Saints goals.

Cats win soured by Holmes injury

Geelong can’t catch a break, as at this time of year, you want your players hitting top gear, not getting injured.

After losing Cameron last week against GWS, now Max Holmes is in danger of missing games after having his ankle rolled up on in the fourth quarter. Plus others being banged up, it is far from ideal.

Naturally, the nasty syndesmosis injury is the first thought, but the Cats aren’t sure of the gravity of Max’s injury yet.

The Cats proved against the Saints that they can still pack a punch, but in showing that, they lost one of their best players when they could ill afford to.
