If he achieves that honour, he will join four other rides — Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain — as the only riders to win five titles in the event’s history.
Danish star Jones Vingegaard — the 2022 and 2023 winner — is expected to be Pogacar’s biggest challenger once again.

This year’s Tour de France will roll out Saturday, July 4 with a rare opening team time trial, the first on Stage 1 since 1971. Coverage in Australia will begin at 12:55 a.m. AEST, with the first team set to begin racing at 1:05 a.m. AEST
