What happened to Landon Donovan’s hair?
Donovan made a video on his Instagram page in September, discussing his hairline and the struggles he underwent in trying to fix it. His hair loss began when he was about 18-20 years old.

Whether it’s a hairline transplant or other treatments, Donovan insisted that he simply couldn’t find a solution that worked. As a result, he said that two choices remained. Either he could shave it all off and go bald or begin using a hairpiece.

In Donovan’s words, the bald route was «not an option.»
Alas, he took to his Instagram followers for suggestions on what style of wig he should begin using. It was finally time for those who had been USMNT fans for years to influence the new hairstyle of an iconic player.
«I’m sure there’ll be a lot of banter, funny answers, that’s fine. But real answers too. I need your help,» Donovan said in the post.

Yes, Landon Donovan wears a hairpiece. Less than a week after posting the prior video on his Instagram and asking for advice, Donovan posted another video. This time, it was a montage of getting the top of his head shaved, with a wig being applied.

Donovan went on to thanks fans for their support, especially those who dealt with similar hair loss issues.
«I have had thousands of messages from you guys and I really appreciate the support,» Donovan told his Instagram audience in October.
