Dart met with his Giants teammates to discuss introducing Trump at the New York rally, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported, adding that Dart and other Giants players «worked through it» and are «moving forward.»

The meeting reportedly included words from Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jameis Winston, who are seen as veteran leaders in a young locker room.
While what Dart said exactly isn’t clear, the Giants appear to be ready to get back to football after Carter’s response made what might have initially looked like a simple internet controversy turn into a legitimate issue for the team.

Jaxson Dart Donald Trump rally controversy
Dart made a surprise appearance at Trump’s rally for Rep. Mike Lawler in New York on Friday, introducing the president. Any political involvement by a prominent athlete is naturally going to generate some controversy on social media, but it turned into a real issue for the Giants when Carter, who was part of Dart’s draft class, tweeted his thoughts.

Shortly after, Carter tried to put out the fire. «Me & JD6 are good!» he tweeted. «We spoke earlier as Men. Y’all can keep y’all narratives.»
Dart hasn’t spoken publicly about the rally, but some outlets have added fuel to the fire by pointing out that he has a history of liking pro-Trump posts on Instagram.
Some NFL players, including Nick Bosa, Marlon Humphrey and Maxx Crosby, were vocal supporters of Trump ahead of the 2024 election. Dart’s head coach, John Harbaugh, visited the White House in 2025 and called the experience «amazing,» explaining, «I want our president to be successful just like I want my quarterback to be successful and I want my team to be successful.»
Dart certainly isn’t alone, but his public appearance at the rally put him in an awkward position with at least one teammate.
