It’s been years since there was a true alternative to challenge the UFC. Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, who were dormant for years, were unleashed for one last fight inside the Intuit Dome in an attempt to cause a disturbance.

The two trailblazers had something to prove after time away, on a Netflix card promoted by Most Valuable Promotions. It was Rousey, who walked away from the sport in 2016 following two straight losses, that got her hand raised.

Carano, who hadn’t fought in 17 years, lost in 17 seconds following a vintage Rousey armbar.

Rousey (13-2) looked like she never left. Carano (7-2), who never officially retired, appeared to want to take on a striker. She tried to attack, but Ronda, as she did many times in the past, locked in the armbar for the quick win.

«Rowdy» Ronda, ready to prove she remains the best in the world, was also on a mission to change women’s MMA for the better. She did it then and continued her mission in California. Now, she’s set to retire once again and have more kids.

It was Rousey’s first win since 2015. Carano, who was one of the reasons Rousey started competing, didn’t directly say she would officially retire, teasing that anything is possible.

The event had almost every viral moment you could ask for.

Mike Perry returned to MMA and showcased his bare-knuckle skills against the usually durable Nate Diaz. Perry (15-8) bloodied Diaz up, from the front and back of his head. The fight was called after the second round following a knockdown.

Perry got his first MMA win since 2021. Diaz (21-14) lost his first MMA fight since 2022. A rematch is possible. Perry could also face Jake Paul in MMA after the latter previously beat the former in a boxing match.

The UFC tried to counter Francis Ngannou’s first MMA fight since 2024 by announcing the return of Conor McGregor. That didn’t bother Ngannou, the lineal heavyweight champion, who took out Philipe Lins with a vicious hook. “The Predator” earned his 14th win via knockout.

Could Ngannou (19-3) take on Robelis Despaigne, who fought earlier in the night? What about Jon Jones, who was in attendance tonight?

Salahdine Parnasse is one of the most exciting prospects not competing in the UFC. Parnasse (23-2) debuted in the U.S. with a bang, landing a brutal body shot to take out Kenneth Cross to win his fifth straight fight.

Opening the main card, Junior dos Santos tried to attack on the inside against Despaigne (6-2). It would be his downfall as Despaigne landed a three-punch combination that knocked out the former heavyweight champion.

Despaigne has six wins via knockout. dos Santos’ two-fight win streak has ended.

Meanwhile, UFC fighter Arman Tsarukyan jumped the railing to take on an MVP fighter, Adriano Moraes beat Phumi Nkuta after instant replay was used, and Jason Jackson landed a massive knockout to remind people who he is.

Gina Carano comes out to «Mr. Brightside» by The Killers. Ronda Rousey, as expected, comes out to «Bad Reputation» by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

The main event is up next. Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano. One hasn’t fought since 2009, the other since 2016. Two trailblazers, ready to go out on their own terms.

They have stopped the fight. Perry beats Diaz after a bad cut and beatdown. Diaz may want a rematch. Perry is interested in that, or facing Jake Paul in MMA. 

Round two: Jabs from Diaz connected. Perry with combinations. Superman Punch from Perry. Perry with another body shot. Double jab from Diaz. Hooks from Diaz. Uppercuts and combinations from Perry. An elbow to the neck of Diaz. Diaz was standing his ground. Perry was all over Diaz. 

Both are a bloody mess. Diaz tried for an armbar. Perry with elbows. He landed flurries and called for Diaz to stand. Diaz punched back as Perry pressed forward. Diaz had quite the crimson mask. Diaz got knocked down before the bell rang.

Round one: Leg kick right away. Ngannou with combinations. A kick from Ngannou. Lins tried to bring him to the cage, but Ngannou locked in a guillotine. Uppercut by Ngannou. Ngannou puts Lins on his back. Now on top, Ngannou started smashing away. 

Ngannou with a series of right hands. Multiple shots connected. Lins with an overhand of his own. By the cage, Ngannou landed a brutal body shot while holding on. Both swung for the fences but Ngannou knocked his lights out with a hook.

Iridium Sports Agency has filed a formal appeal with the California State Athletic Commission on behalf of Phumi Nkuta regarding the outcome of his bout tonight with Moraes in Inglewood, CA. Per CSAC regulation, the contest should’ve been decided by the judges’ scorecards.

7:28 p.m. ET: Mgoyan finally landed some ground and pound. Morales tried to escape. Elbows on the floor from Mgoyan. Rear-naked choke with 15 seconds left but Morales was a warrior. Mgoyan won via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-26, 30-27).

7:23 p.m. ET: Morales looked tired as he tried to get up. Mgoyan with a head kick as Morales got up before the end of the round. A brutal takedown from Mgoyan to open round three, and another. Rear-naked choke attempt, as Morales did enough to avoid major damage. 

7:18 p.m. ET: Round two started with a kick from Mgoyan. Morales tried a kick. Takedown attempt from Mgoyan was denied. Mgoyan finally got the leg of Morales, turned him around and brought him down. On half guard, Mgoyan smothered Morales. He hit hard shots and wouldn’t give Morales a second to breathe.

6:27 p.m. ET: Jenkins pressed forward in round three. He used leg kicks and elbows to damage the body of Avila. The leg kicks were effective. Big right by Avila hurt Jenkins. Avila with a three-punch combination, while Jenkins continued with the kicks. Great way to start the night.

6:20 p.m. ET: Jenkins continued to chop down Avila’s lead leg in round two. Avila came forward with a jab. Hard shots were thrown by Avila. Left hook by Avila. Uppercut and a spinning backfist by Jenkins. He landed several of the latter.
