Brazil’s Betting Market Becomes “Mobile-Only” as Smartphone Usage Surpasses 98%
Brazilian iGaming continues its successful trend and remains one of the most interesting markets not only because of its size but also because of the almost exclusive use of mobile devices in this field.
According to Aposta Legal’s research conducted using the “Bets Panel” in Q1 2026, smartphone use accounts for almost 98.64% of all visits to betting platforms in Brazil. Desktops, in turn, are used less than 1.36%. This situation stands in sharp contrast to what we see in other countries.
From Multi-Platform to Mobile-Only… and Beyond
While other world regions still use both desktop computers and smartphones actively, Brazil is already a mobile-first country. Its online gambling evolution is closely related to the spread of smartphones, social networks, and mobile apps.
In addition, this process is accelerated by the creation of responsive and mobile-friendly websites and mobile interfaces, as well as the growing popularity of watching live sports matches. It is not surprising that most activities such as signing up, deposits, bets, live odds updates, and withdrawals are carried out exclusively via mobile devices.
Moreover, mobile integration enables changes in consumer habits toward betting platforms, making them part of the user’s routine. Such user behavior can explain the unusually high frequency and amount of activity characteristic of the Brazilian iGaming market.
Billion Visits Prove the Point
The mobile domination of the Brazilian betting market becomes even more visible in terms of absolute values. For example, during the first three months of 2026, the Brazilian iGaming ecosystem received about 6.28 billion visits.
Mobile platforms generated almost 6.19 billion visits, which means that desktops received just 85.4 million visits, a huge number in its own right, yet only 1.36% of total visits.
The comparison with other markets also confirms the high proportion of mobile devices used in the Brazilian iGaming sector.
Comparison with Nearby Countries Reveals More
For example, according to the “Bets Panel” data, in Peru, mobiles are used 85% of the time, and desktop computers generate 15% of total traffic. In Chile, desktop devices account for 19%, and mobiles provide 81% of total traffic.
Ecuador sees an even smaller share of mobile use, just 72%, while desktops make up 28%. This demonstrates that the multi-platform approach is still common in Peru, Chile, and Ecuador despite the growing popularity of smartphones.
Comparing these indicators to Brazil’s figures, it is evident that the number of visits made by desktops in Chile is 13.79 times higher than in Brazil, while in Ecuador, the difference is 20.59 times higher.
Total traffic numbers reveal an equally strong advantage for Brazil, with billions of visits compared to 253 million in Peru, 72.38 million in Chile, and 15.28 million in Ecuador.
Conclusion and Future Directions for Brazil’s Gambling Industry
Undoubtedly, the data presented above clearly indicate that the focus of Brazilian operators should be primarily on mobile products and services. In addition, the current trends can be extrapolated to the development of betting markets in other countries.
In summary, mobile-only Brazil can serve as an example of what awaits new iGaming markets in the future.
