Opening of New York City’s First Live Table Games Floor at Resorts World

Live Dealer Debut
The opening introduced blackjack, craps, baccarat, and roulette within city limits for the first time. This development came after securing regulatory permission from the New York State Gaming Commission and months after being nominated by the operator as a candidate for obtaining a complete casino license.
Over 240 table games have been provided in the new gaming area. In addition, the gaming venue still provides more than 2,500 slot machines; this has provided the gaming facility with a variety of game options.
As stated by The New York Times, many have attended the event before the official opening, and early attendees were already playing on the floor just minutes after the gates had opened.
Property Expansion
Resorts World is operated by Malaysia-based Genting Group and has described the opening as a big milestone in its shift from a slots-only racino into a full-scale casino. The move gives the property a larger role in New York City’s gaming market and expands the range of offerings available to visitors.

The launch also follows a hiring push that added around 1,250 new roles. That included approximately 950 table game dealers, supporting the new live dealer floor and its expanded operations. The staff increase was also part of the preparation work for the upcoming development phase of the project.
More gaming spaces are to be expected in the fall of 2026 as part of an overall expansion process. This indicates that the existing launch represents just a portion of a much larger build-out of the property, with other changes yet to be introduced towards the end of the year.
Wider Casino Plans
The launch takes place at the same time that New York is continuing with its plans for casino expansion on a statewide scale. Two more properties with licenses are set to open their doors around 2030, signaling a larger trend towards the casino industry in the state.
Resorts World currently stands out as the first to introduce live table games in the city itself. The opening gives the property a first-mover advantage in the city’s evolving casino market and establishes it as a key part of the next phase of gaming development.
