Major fears for Sam Darcy as Jeremy Cameron boots 10 in Dogs horror show

The once-premiership favoured Western Bulldogs may have had their season flipped on its head in one horror night at the Cattery, with Jeremy Cameron’s 10-goal haul far from Luke Beveridge’s biggest concern.

The Dogs were a step behind from the opening siren, falling into a 32-point hole in the first term en route to a 75-point defeat, 8.8 (56) to 19.17 (131).

The Dogs limped through to the final siren with just one fit man on the bench by the time the game was all said and done, with the big concern pertaining to the health of superstar key forward Sam Darcy.

The 22-year-old fell to the ground in a non-contact incident early in the second term while holding his knee, and did not see out the rest of the match.

Dogs’ general manager admitted the club was worried Darcy’s injury was a serious one, but won’t be able to give a clearer picture until he undergoes scans.

«At this stage we do have concerns it’s a serious knee injury but we can’t really comment any further at this stage,» he said on the Seven broadcast.

«We’ll get the scans done tomorrow and update everyone as we get the results of that.»

Darcy is not the only Dog set for a stint on the sidelines though, with Tom Liberatore (concussion), James O’Donnell (hamstring) and Rory Lobb (hamstring) also finishing the game worse for wear.

Luke Beveridge’s side was hurting in more ways than one however, with Geelong star Jeremy Cameron thrusting himself into the Coleman medal conversation, after dropping a 10-piece.

The defending Coleman medallist burst out the gates with seven goals in the first half, eventually booting his 10th just seconds before the final siren.
